Bart Verdeyen - 1e national Barcelona 2010

On June 2nd 2010 Barcelona was released. It became clear very soon that it would be a tough one. When I was waiting for my pigeons on Saturday, I got a message that a friend of mine, Bart Verdeyen had and early bird.

I met Bart in 2007 when he was looking for the long distance blood lines of Jimmy Brands.
I went to Steenokkerzeel with some young birds I bred, and Bart bought 10 of them. One year later he came to Berendrecht, were I lived, and he took 5 or 6 pigeons back to Steenokkerzeel. One of them was the Barcelona 2010 winner BE08-6169265, a dark chequered cock. In the year Bart got the birds, the father of the later Barcelona winner got sick, and I had to remove him from my loft. It was an Eijerkamp pigeon from the "Black Giant", "Daxter" and "Bonfire" line. The mother was a Louis Van De Wouwer, Berendrecht pigeon. He bred the mother 1st national from a son of "Charly" from Jimmy Brands. "Son Charly" was mated to a breeding hen of Karel Huygen (Bijsterveld x Hagens Bros.). Sadly enough, both parents were no longer on my loft in 2010.

I want to congratulate Bart again for his victory with this pigeon, and wish him all the best in breeding.
