The 2021 season is over. Below you can review the planned schedule, but as always, there will be some changes. We decided not to participate in St-Vincent/Marseille. Some of the yearlings race Agen-Souillac and others race Agen-Narbonne.
We can be satisfied with the 2021 season. Fifty percent of the pigeons entered in international races are listed in the provincial results. Many have to settle for less.
At Agen, we also had the 240th provincial with a 2-year-old hen, but something went wrong with the chip ring during basketing.
The results are all shown in the Antwerp provincial results.
The selection is complete and we have a nice team ready for 2022. There will be more races in preparation for Barcelona and the yearlings will be racing Agen-Narbonne if weather conditions are normal.
We have just passed New Year’s Eve as we write this page. January 4, to be precise.
I hope that the 2021 racing season will get off to a normal start, but this will depend on both bird flu and COVID-19.
The racing team for 2021 will be larger than intended, which is actually a good thing. In 2020, very few young birds were lost from the loft during the races. This is positive, but you also have to be able to race them, of course. We will start the 2021 racing season with 29 old birds, including 19 cocks and 65 yearlings. A few may be removed in the coming weeks, but only time will tell.
The intention was to only race Barcelona-Perpignan and Agen-Narbonne with the old birds from 2020 onwards. We are going to revise this a little, although those two races will remain the races in which most pigeons will be raced. We will also enter a few pigeons in Pau so not all 3-year-olds and older birds are raced in Barcelona.
It remains to be seen whether the calendar as drawn up in October by the KBDB will remain unchanged. The ambition is to divide the old birds into three groups and the yearlings into two groups.

Group 2 old birds: 05/29 Bourges – 06/12 Limoges – 07/09 Barcelona – 08/06 Perpignan
Group 3 old birds: 29/05 Bourges – 05/06 Chateauroux – 02/07 Agen – 30/07 Narbonne
Group 1 yearlings (cocks): 29/05 Bourges – 05/06 Chateauroux – 02/07 Agen – 24/07 Perigueux
Group 2 yearlings (hens): 05/29 Bourges – 06/05 Chateauroux – 07/02 Agen – 07/30 Narbonne
As is well known, only the results of races over 650 km are shown. In itself, this distance is not yet suitable for young birds, but they can usually still win a prize. We mainly look at races with distances over 800 km.
