Time for an analysis…
On August 1, 2022, the season here has come to an end.
Last year, we made the decision to only participate in Agen-Narbonne and Barcelona. If Barcelona is not difficult (starting between 1100 and 1000m), then Perpignan will be added.
At Agen, 20 old birds and 34 yearlings were entered.
At Barcelona, 13 old birds.
At Narbonne, 17 old birds and 27 yearlings.
We can once again be very satisfied and it has been our best season so far.
A total of 111 pigeons were entered over these 3 race combined.

This results in a total of 31 prizes 1:10 national, or 27% of the pigeons entered.
National, we won 46/111 prizes, or 41% of entries.
Provincial, we won 60/111 prizes, or 54% of entries.
We won 7 top 100 national places.
And we may well score well in the national ace pigeon rankings with 502-21.
On Agen 99th national and according to the forecast 29th national on Narbonne. More on this later.
Many will think I’m crazy, but in the meantime, the pigeons are already in their loft for next year. Yearlings were moved.
Young birds from the 1st and 2nd round that will form the yearlings in 2023 have been selected and transferred to the yearling loft.
These will be added with young birds from the 3rd round, and after moulting, a final selection will be made.

Preview, winter 2021:
You are a pigeon fancier 365 days a year, so preparations for 2022 have already begun. After selecting the pigeons, we now have a nice team of old/two-year-olds and a new batch of yearlings.
Looking ahead to 2022, we will focus even more on the race for which we have made enormous investments in recent years, Barcelona. For 2022, all pigeons born in 2019 and older will go to Spain, added by a few two-year-olds that raced Agen-Narbonne as yearlings.
The remaining two-year-olds will complete the Agen-Narbonne double together with the yearlings.
In 2022, all pigeons will be raced from the nest, and we hope to at least match the results of 2021 and take another step forward.
In order to basket the pigeons on breeding 10-12 days in advance, the team for Agen will be paired on June 5, 2022, and the Barcelona team on June 12, 2022.
Under normal circumstances, the program for the racing pigeons will therefore look as follows. In April, there are still two weeks that we can cancel depending on the weather.
