First test and use Rumst 03/04/2023

The new season was just around the corner, and we normally drive the pigeons twice ourselves before they go to Quievrain with the club.
The first stop is Rumst, 29 km away, a beautiful release site at a P+R parking lot and a quick connection for me. It takes me 25 minutes to get there, and I usually see the pigeons arrive home as well.
So, first test with the rings. Two pigeons were fitted with their GPS rings and released at 12:15 p.m.
At 12:45 p.m., the first one was clocked, a group of seven pigeons arrived separately, and then there was a gap until 12:58 p.m., when a large group was clocked. These had flown around the loft for a few minutes. The two GPS pigeons were also in the large group.
Where you would think that the seven pigeons turned back and the others flew on and did some extra training in the neighborhood, the GPS ring indicates something else.

After the release, you can see that the pigeons continued to fly in the Waarloos-Reet-Rumst triangle for a long time, while the seven others probably flew for less time and returned home.

The start with the GPS rings had been made and left us wanting more 🙂
