The young birds are now racing the middle distance.
Due to the unsettled weather, the oldest youngsters have mainly raced Quievrains. We skipped Noyon this year, which was probably a good decision. It was often a less smooth flight than Quievrain.

During the Barcelona weekend, the oldest youngsters did Melun for the first time. The following week, they stayed home for a week because they started vomiting on Monday, lost their appetite for training for a few days, and then started flying well again. Bizarre so late in the season…

So, a week of mandatory rest and back to work last weekend. Forty-six youngsters were basketed for Melun, 320 km. You would think that with a southeasterly wind it would be easy, but the youngsters had a hard time throughout the province. I’ve started almost 50 minutes after the first old bird in the club. This pigeon also won in Union Antwerp, so it was very early, congratulations Jean!
After waiting 50 minutes for the first pigeon, the pigeons trickled in throughout the day. In the end, 39/46 pigeons managed to return home on Saturday, followed by two more on Sunday.

Next weekend, if the weather is ok, these youngsters will go to Montargis 390 km.
