Today, for the last time, a few youngsters were basketted for Quievrain, along with some later-bred pigeons, for the third time.
The youngsters from that loft did not return home easily this year.
The cause is unclear; medically, everything seems to be fine, yet both these last youngsters and the group before them (which are in the same loft) had difficulty returning home.
In the end, about 20 remain to be raced as yearlings.
This group will not get the double Agen – Narbonne next year, but perhaps two races of 700-800 km.
This was the last race for this year for them.
We are currently busy getting the pigeons getting used to the lofts from which they will race next year.
Within a week or two, we will start a treatment against paratyphoid, followed by a vaccination a few weeks later.
