It has been a while since.
During the off-season, things always slow down a bit and we make time for other things. Here’ i’s a quick update on the current state at my loft.

The pigeons are now molting heavily or have already partially molted.
We have already transferred the young birds to the lofts for next year, and they have already been outside here.
The transfer is actually going very smoothly, with no birds sleeping outside and everything always inside before dark.
The pigeons have received a preventive treatment against paratyphoid and will also be vaccinated for this on October 20.

As we gradually enter winter, pigeon racing is slowing down considerably.
Last week, we noticed that pigeon theft had occurred again, so I tested the alarm myself to see if everything was still working properly, and it is. This gives us some peace of mind.
The cameras are also doing their job. At the slightest movement in the garden, we receive an alarm and can see what is going on.
This may well have been the best investment of 2024.

Soon there will be another piece about a reinforcement for the breeding loft that was picked up.

See you later,
Koen
